First Global Conference on Tax and the SDGs
Venue United Nations Headquarters
The Platform for Collaboration on Tax (PCT), is planning to hold the first global conference of the PCT, which will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA, during 14-16 February 2018.
The PCT is a collaborative initiative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations (UN), and the World Bank Group (WBG) designed to intensify our cooperation on tax issues, as well as to support capacity-building efforts in developing countries and the joint delivery of guidance on a range of tax issues.
The theme of this first global conference is “Taxation and the Sustainable Development Goals”. High-level speakers from across the world will discuss the role of taxation in the achievement of the SDGs. The conference will focus on the opportunities and challenges for taxation and its role in supporting the SDGs. It will cover practical aspects of tax policy and administration, as well as encourage an open exchange of experiences and views on the options to use taxation to improve SDG outcomes.
