Zambia Alternative Mining Indaba: "Our Zambia, Our Minerals, Moving Towards Meaning Meaningful Transparency and Accountability"

Publish What You Pay Zambia in conjunction with the Zambia Conference for Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) ,Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) Center for Trade Policy and Development (CTPD), Action Aid Zambia, Diakonia Zambia, Joint Country Programme (NCA,DCA, CA), Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR), Oxfam Zambia, Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) among other civil society organisations in Zambia would like to extend an official invitation for you to attend and participate in the Zambia Alternative Mining Indaba from the 11th to the 13th of June, 2019 to be held at Cresta Golf View Hotel in Lusaka.
The theme of the 2019 ZAMI is "Our Zambia, Our Minerals, Moving Towards Meaning Meaningful Transparency and Accountability" The ZAMI aims to create a policy and legislative dialogue space where stakeholders will propose legislative and policy changes that will see the country benefit from natural resource extraction.
This goal will be achieved by holding parallel workshops on topical issues that will inform policy and legislative changes. The topical issues will be informed by local community testimonies, regional mining indabas discussions, research papers and academic student debates.
The event will also embrace views, lessons and experiences from participants from the African region as well as international issues around natural resource governance.
